I Hate This
I hate feeling sick! I have not been feeling 100% the past few days. Every night since Monday I have had a fever before going to bed. I can't seem to figure out what is going on. I wake up in the mornings feeling like I just did a five mile run because the fever is breaking in the middle of night sometime. Usually when I am really hot I will throw the covers off of me, but I haven't been doing that. My muscles from my neck all the way down to my hips are are tight and achy. I hate this feeling! Those who know me know I don't like or use the word hate to describe any feeling, but I think in this case it's justified. I have no energy, my body just wants to give up. I got out of the shower this morning and laid back down on the bed and contemplated not going into work at all today. My conscience took a hold of me and told me I have to go to work because if I don't the next day and the next week with the class I have today will be awful so I decided I had better come in. It's funny, since I have been in SA I tend to get sick in January and February. One year it was the flu in February and the next year it was appendicitis in January. This year, I don't know what it is. I was talking to Leland last night and he is thinking it may from the deep bruise to my ribs I sustained last Friday at my indoor soccer game. It could be throwing my body out of whack. If that's the case I just want everything to go away so I feel better. I am eating normally but a couple of hours later I am starving. Maybe these fevers are causing that because they need the energy, I don't know. I don't trust going to a doc right now either. The last one I went to for my week long sore throat did the strep test and said it wasn't strep but didn't know what it was. I would like answers when I am feeling like that. There has to be an explanation as to why my throat was so bad for a week and I lost my voice and I am still having trouble with it. Anyway. I just want it all to go away. I hate being sick!

Little by Little
I turned to Leland over the weekend and said, "I finally feel like were married." It has taken about four weeks, but I finally feel like my place is our place and my space is our space. It's still a little difficult for me to say our apartment because I was so use to saying my apartment, but little by little it's getting easier. It's all about baby steps. I still introduce myself by my maiden name and it's still weird to hear my married name, but it's getting easier little by little, baby steps. This year is going to be taking things by baby steps. I usually take everything head on and I get frustrated when I don't get it right the first time, so this year, it's all about taking baby steps. If I want to improve and do my best I have to take things slowly and a little at a time. I think this is going to be the hardest for me though. How do I learn to take things a little at a time? I just want to take everything in at one time. Adjustments, to me, should be quick. I always prided myself on how adaptable I have been in all situations I have before me. As I am getting older I am realizing that I am not so adaptable anymore. I have started to become stuck in my ways, or so it seems. It's just taking longer for me to adapt. Are these baby steps I am taking or is it that I just don't change as quickly as I use to? If theye are baby steps, then maybe I do know how to take things little by little already. I guess I will just have to figure that all out on my own.

Reflections
I am sitting at work right now and trying to think if I have done a 2009 reflection of all the events that happened to me last year. I don't think I have done that so here it goes.
January 2009:
Enchanted Rock was a blast. I wish I could post pictures, but I lost my flash that has all my pics on it =0(
An appendectomy and a week's stay in the hospital after an infection occurred. Good news 1) don't have to go through that again and 2) 3 weeks of extended Christmas vacation =0)
Febrauary 2009:
Still recovering from the surge and stuff so no big time events except starting workouts again.
March 2009:
Happy Birthday to me and all other March babies out there. 27 years is getting pretty old.
Mom had her second parathyroid surge to get out the tumor. I went to help her out for the week. It was quite fun and surprisingly relaxing.
April 2009:
State soccer finals was so much fun to watch. The skilled players, the bad calls from refs, and seeing my former high school coach were all highlights. The cold and rain, however, were not.
May 2009:
The gym at school was finally finished! Too bad we couldn't use it until the last two days of school.
Alamo Ward was split to form the Alamo 1st and Alamo 2nd Wards.
June 2009:
Third year of teaching down, whew!
Started taking my ILD/PDAS classes.
100 degree weather begins =0{
July 2009:
Finished ILD/PDAS and became a certified teacher evaluator and expert in evaluations in the eyes of the court.
Went to Colorado Springs again with Dad for a family friend's wedding reception.
Got a job at the Franklin 9th grade Center. Turned it down and severely upset Dad.
Moved to a new apartment and went from one stake to another and one ward to another. Two wards, two stakes, one year.
Started dating Leland
August 2009:
Continued the dating game. Leland tells me he loved me, I am not too sure at this point but having a great time with him.
Fourth year of teaching started.
Began organizing the school athletics program. Started with coaching the girl's volleyball team.
September 2009:
Leland and I become unofficially engaged.
I go through the temple and receive my endowments.
Parents come to visit and Dad is no longer upset with my career decision.
October 2009:
Officially engaged! Let the shunning phase begin from people who are single. It's funny thinking back to what happened throughout the engagement. Yes, I starting doing more with my hubs-to-be, but I still tried to make it to as many functions as I could. Even with my efforts it still happened.
Best Halloween Party ever!
November 2009:
A lack-luster volleyball season is finally over!
Basketball try-outs followed by angry parent e-mails questioning my abilities as a coach. Funny stuff these people say.
Thanksgiving at home with the fam and Leland in EP. Ran the Turkey Trot in 33 degree weather and shaved off 2 minutes from my previous 5K time (and that was altitude too)
December 2009:
Got married!
Joined my third ward and third stake in one year. How often do you get to do that and live in only two different apartments? It's pretty rare outside Utah ;)
Started trying to combine two separate lives.
All in all an eventful year. It was one of the best years on record for me. Of course, all of my years are the best. There were some trouble spots, trials, and rocky roads, but everything was fro my experience and I loved every minute of it. Oh, the bell just rang. Time to get back to the real world.

What a Weekend!
Such a great weekend this past weekend! So I have been completely bugged about the apartment being a huge catastrophic mess the past three weeks due to Leland moving all his stuff in and all the reception leftovers and other stuff building up. I feel bad for Leland because he has had to listen to me complain about not having time to get things done. I give him much props for taking my complaints and not being irritated (or at least showing his irritation). Saturday after taking my car to the shop and leaving it there all day (which is why I had time, no car = no go) and after Leland left for all his football meetings I got straight to work. It was an overwhelming task, but I took it one room at a time and cleaned everything up, what I could clean anyway. I can now see the top of the cocktail table. The bar area by the kitchen is more or less organized and not so cluttered. The dining room table is cleared and we can finally eat at it. Book shelves are in place with books organized on them. The only place in the apartment that is not 100% organized is the bedroom, but I have a feeling it will be done very shortly. Trying to combine two separate lives is hard stuff! For all my single friends, get rid of the junk that you have lying around. If you haven't used it don't fool yourself into thinking that you will use it in the near future, because you won't. If it has a great memory, take a picture, place it in your journal and write about why it has such a great memory for you. It will keep the junk down and give you some great journal entries that your kids, grand kids and the rest of your posterity will love. The evening was full of fun shopping using gift cards we received from people as wedding gifts. Looking back, we should have just registered for gift cards. I even was able to start organizing things for thank you cards. If you are expecting one, it will happen shortly, I hope.
Sunday was so relaxing! I love church at 9am. I always feel really tired, but after being spiritually fed I am fully awake and ready to take on the rest of the day. I love being able to just chill with my husband, take a nap, do some baking, and watch a little football. This past Sunday was a real rest day, something I have not had in years, or so it seems. I loved Sunday. Sundays are the greatest day of the week!
Since it was Martin Luther King Day on Monday it was an extension of the weekend. Leland and I did some more shopping and finally upgraded the bed. Which reminds me, does anyone have a need for a full size bed, a year and half old? Frame, box springs, mattress, head board, and bedding are included. We then went to Chama Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse. Can we say I love Brazilian food now? It was an experience for the taste buds. If you have never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse, you have got to go. It is rather expensive though, lunch is about 20 bones per, but totally worth it. All you can eat meats and salad bar. There's even side dishes and desserts if your stomach can handle the stretch and is big enough. The service is wonderful! It's really a great experience that you have to do yourself to totally understand. I was told about this great place all the time, but until I actually went through the process I didn't fully appreciate or understand it. GO! A little warning, do not, I repeat, do not try to go for a run the same day you eat that much. I was sooooo sick during and after the run. I felt bad for my running partner because he normally does about five to six miles and I think we only did about 2 1/2 to 3 miles. Later in the evening we went to one of my co-workers for games. I won the game, Fact or Crap, and beat Leland by one point. It was sweet. We then played the new Mario Bros game on the Wii. I can now see how people can become addicted to it. I want it now! We should get it before too long. We just have to find a store that is carrying it right now.
All in all it was a great weekend. I am probably missing some details but I got the major stuff. I had forgotten what a real weekend was like, and I love what a real weekend is all about. With that said have a great week and a wonderful weekend!

Promised Wedding Pics
These aren't all the pictures. There are still more pictures if we ever get them from other people who took photos. These are my favorites though. Enjoy!
I love that Leland is holding the umbrella for me. He's such a gentleman.
Before we all become one big, happy family. Dad doesn't look so happy. Probably because he just got off an airplane an hour before this shot was taken, and he was still a little air-sick.

Have to have a great pic of the hair. In case you're wondering, Sam at Toni & Guy in North Star Mall. He's amazing with hair!
Grandma and Grandpa Moon and Grandma Page. Two of the spunkiest women I have ever met outside of my own Grandma Gilmore.
The Page family (Rachel, Papa, ME ;), Leland, Mama, Amanda)
My favorite place outside the temple is this stained glass window. Another reason for a night wedding, the beautiful stained glass.
Looks like snow. It's not, but we are calling it snow.
Group shot of everyone who stuck around for the evening. Thanks to all who came! You made our day even better than what we thought it could be.

A lot has happened since Christmas. I met my in-laws for the first time, got married, had one reception, and got sick. What a way to start the new year, right? Okay, details now.
The in-laws: I love my in-laws. Mom-in-law is a wonderful woman so full of life and excitement. She has this great spirit and love for her family. I have known Dad-in-law for the past couple of months since he is working in Texas right now. He is an amazing man. He made me the cutest blanket for Christmas. He's a hard worker that wants only the best for his family. The Grandparents are awesome! Grandma and Grandpa Moon are the cutest little couple. They are a ton of fun and have a zest for life. Grandma Page is so cute. She's a bit sassy and feisty. I like that in a grandma, very much like my own Grandma Gilmore. The sisters-in-law are well, how can I put it nicely, ummmm, immature? Granted one of them just graduated high school, so that's a little more understandable. The other one is twenty-five already and still acting like she is in high school. Talking about and getting her nose into things that she really shouldn't be taking about. She takes a little info and turns it into something else. She has a little bit more growing up to do. Hopefully she will be able to do that. She is a lot like my brother for those of you that know him. Not as far off the deep end, but still there.
Wedding Day!!!! December 29, 2009 Leland and I were married in the San Antonio Temple. It was a great evening! The rest of the day was not so great. It poured down rain the entire day and never got above 41 degrees outside. At least it stopped raining and was only misting for the pictures. Grandpa Moon was able to seal us. He has two great advices, no excuses and be nice to each other. I use the "be nice" line all the time now ;) According to my mom we were sealed at exactly 7:10pm. I am now Mrs. Page =0) After the wedding and the pictures we went to dinner at Zios with all of our family and some close friends. We are two very blessed individuals and will be blessed as we start our journey together.
Reception 1: Very nice reception at the Holiday Inn Sunland Park in EP. The food was amazing! Too bad my dress had a build in corset that restricted how I sat and didn't allow my stomach to expand so I could enjoy the food. It was still a very nice evening. Grandma and Grandpa Gilmore were able to come to the reception. I don't get to see them except every few years, so we spent a lot of time with them. I love my grandparents. My friend Ashley loves them as well. She especially loves Grandma. They are both feisty individuals who know what they like and want and will get it done. They were so much fun around each other. I don't know if I have ever seen my grandma as sassy as she was around Ashley. Great times! The Edgin's were also able to come. The Edgin family is a great family. They live in Monument, Colorado now, but I went to high school with two of the younger kids in Killeen. I was thrilled to see them! The only problem was all the stress that was involved with everything. Whatever, I still got everything done that needed to get done so no problemo. All in all it was a really busy day with a rewarding ending.
Ahhh, the illness: We were on our way back to SA when I started to feel a little knot in my throat. Things didn't really start hitting until after I received some frustrating news that we were going to have to dissolve the high school girl's basketball team due to players having to quit and players being ineligible. Then the headache started and the throat and the nose a little bit and the body aches. That night I was tucked into bed by a wonderful husband and continued to have chills the rest of the night. Today I feel much better, just a little, tiny cough and a sore throat. I don't know what it is but I blame it all on Leland and him getting me sick. He was sick last weekend and I am saying I got it from him no matter what it is. Even if it just my own allergies or something like that I am blaming it on him :)
Things have been very eventful the past two weeks and will continue to be eventful the rest of the year. So much more stuff to do and experiences to share. It's gonna be a roller coaster ride. Am I ready? Let's hope so!
