A lot has happened since Christmas. I met my in-laws for the first time, got married, had one reception, and got sick. What a way to start the new year, right? Okay, details now.
The in-laws: I love my in-laws. Mom-in-law is a wonderful woman so full of life and excitement. She has this great spirit and love for her family. I have known Dad-in-law for the past couple of months since he is working in Texas right now. He is an amazing man. He made me the cutest blanket for Christmas. He's a hard worker that wants only the best for his family. The Grandparents are awesome! Grandma and Grandpa Moon are the cutest little couple. They are a ton of fun and have a zest for life. Grandma Page is so cute. She's a bit sassy and feisty. I like that in a grandma, very much like my own Grandma Gilmore. The sisters-in-law are well, how can I put it nicely, ummmm, immature? Granted one of them just graduated high school, so that's a little more understandable. The other one is twenty-five already and still acting like she is in high school. Talking about and getting her nose into things that she really shouldn't be taking about. She takes a little info and turns it into something else. She has a little bit more growing up to do. Hopefully she will be able to do that. She is a lot like my brother for those of you that know him. Not as far off the deep end, but still there.
Wedding Day!!!! December 29, 2009 Leland and I were married in the San Antonio Temple. It was a great evening! The rest of the day was not so great. It poured down rain the entire day and never got above 41 degrees outside. At least it stopped raining and was only misting for the pictures. Grandpa Moon was able to seal us. He has two great advices, no excuses and be nice to each other. I use the "be nice" line all the time now ;) According to my mom we were sealed at exactly 7:10pm. I am now Mrs. Page =0) After the wedding and the pictures we went to dinner at Zios with all of our family and some close friends. We are two very blessed individuals and will be blessed as we start our journey together.
Reception 1: Very nice reception at the Holiday Inn Sunland Park in EP. The food was amazing! Too bad my dress had a build in corset that restricted how I sat and didn't allow my stomach to expand so I could enjoy the food. It was still a very nice evening. Grandma and Grandpa Gilmore were able to come to the reception. I don't get to see them except every few years, so we spent a lot of time with them. I love my grandparents. My friend Ashley loves them as well. She especially loves Grandma. They are both feisty individuals who know what they like and want and will get it done. They were so much fun around each other. I don't know if I have ever seen my grandma as sassy as she was around Ashley. Great times! The Edgin's were also able to come. The Edgin family is a great family. They live in Monument, Colorado now, but I went to high school with two of the younger kids in Killeen. I was thrilled to see them! The only problem was all the stress that was involved with everything. Whatever, I still got everything done that needed to get done so no problemo. All in all it was a really busy day with a rewarding ending.
Ahhh, the illness: We were on our way back to SA when I started to feel a little knot in my throat. Things didn't really start hitting until after I received some frustrating news that we were going to have to dissolve the high school girl's basketball team due to players having to quit and players being ineligible. Then the headache started and the throat and the nose a little bit and the body aches. That night I was tucked into bed by a wonderful husband and continued to have chills the rest of the night. Today I feel much better, just a little, tiny cough and a sore throat. I don't know what it is but I blame it all on Leland and him getting me sick. He was sick last weekend and I am saying I got it from him no matter what it is. Even if it just my own allergies or something like that I am blaming it on him :)
Things have been very eventful the past two weeks and will continue to be eventful the rest of the year. So much more stuff to do and experiences to share. It's gonna be a roller coaster ride. Am I ready? Let's hope so!
Pics of receptions and things will soon follow
